Katherine Heigl reveals how growing up as a child within a "white bubble" has impacted the way that she raised her adoptive multiracial family. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recently that, with regards to skin color the issue isn't that important. But after speaking to her sister who is adopted from South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats people of different races. Meg was asked whether the way she was treated differed when they were out together with their parents or when they went alone. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl spoke to Parents about the moment she realised her ignorance. Heigl said she got upset and believed it was crucial to put her anger on helping the adopted children she has. Heigl is married to Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in 2012.
